I shot this photo for the National Watermelon Association and Aldaco’s Stone Oak in San Antonio. This is Chef Blanca Aldaco’s Alamo City Watermelon Margarita. Chef Aldaco has won dozens of awards for her creative and delicious margaritas.

Aldaco’s Alamo City Watermelon Margarita

Delightfully refreshing and oh so easy – Salud!

  • 1 tablespoon Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Blue Agave
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3 tablespoons Partida Tequila Blanco
  • 2 tablespoons fresh watermelon juice (see method below)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • Ice

Dilute agave with the water. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake softly about 12 times. Serve in a chilled martini glass.

For the watermelon juice:

  • 2 cups diced watermelon

In a blender, pulse watermelon at medium to high speed. Strain and reserve pulp. Place pulp in jar and add enough of the watermelon juice to form a mash. It should be a smooth, evenly textured mixture.
